The last blog for Harry potter

What do we not yet know? What do you think will happen based on the events that occurred in the first book?

What we don't know yet from the book is where Voldemort went off too, and we don't know that much about Snape or the connection between Snape and Voldemort. We don't know much about the Weasley's or the Grangers. Why Dumbledore is helping Harry so often. Finally, how did Voldemort get into the big picture of the Potters, what made him choose the dark side, was he a person before? The deal with Dumbledore or Voldemort.

Chapter 15 Journal

When Ronan tells Harry, “the forest holds many secrets,” what do you think he means? What do you think the planets are predicting that causes Firenze to hope they are being read incorrectly?

When Ronan tells Harry, "the forest holds many secrets," I think he is trying to hint Hagrid and the first-years that the forest holds many different creatures and that many things did and will happen in the forest that is not a call for good.
I think the planets are predicting that it's not time for Harry to die or get hurt yet. That the time will come later on, just not now, that the planets are wrong.

"Softy for a pet" Chapter 14

Chapter 14 Journal

Hagrid seems to be very attached to Norbert. Consider the description of Hagrid’s behaviour in Chapter 14 and explain what we can learn about Hagrid as a person through his relationship with his pet. Have you ever met anyone who is a “little crazy” over his/her pet?

Hagrid seemed to be very attached to the dragon. It's amazing that a big, twelve-foot man, like Hagrid, could be such a softy towards a pet that he hasn't even had for more than a few weeks.
Like Harry, Ron and Hermione, I know someone who is is alittle crazy over their pet. This person, I
live with. She's my Aunt, she absolutely adored her pet. This pet was a cat. The cat was named Blakii. My Aunt loved this cat so much. She treated the cat as if it was her own child. When I first went to her house, I was amazed with what she did for the cat to keep it happy and comfortable. Like Hagrid and his pet, my Aunt has a similar attachment with her pet, the cat.

Chapter 13

Chapter 13 Journal

Think about the power of the Philosopher’s Stone and how having one would affect your life. If you were immortal, what would life be like? If you owned an object that could turn metal into gold, how would your life be different? In your journal, identify at least 1 pro and 1 con of owning the Philospher’s Stone

If i was an immortal, things would be very interesting, yet it would be boring. Living forever isn't something i would like to experience. But i would try and probably get the best education and become rich. I'd live on a low-profile to keep my identity secrete but own a business that is organized and have it set also on a low-profile (example, the Rothschild's). If i owned an object that could turn metal into gold i would touch everything in sight and make millions, it would change my life, because i would be extremely rich. With the gold and metal, along with my everlasting life. I would be a ritch, greedy person. Tempted to make more and more. Living forever and having all the money in the world will not help me become a better person. One pro to own the Philosopher's stone would be the wealth in the Philosopher's stone and being immortal. One con, being immortal can be boring. I'd rather live my life and die old.

April 25, 2012                               Chapter Twelve
In chapter twelve, page 149, bottom paragraph of Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone, the author was explaining how Harry was very blissful to be able to spend Christmas at Hogwarts. Through this paragraph there are many points to support the main idea. Firstly, Hogwarts had a Christmas dinner for all of the students and Harry was really happy to see different foods like: fat, roast turkeys; mountains of roast and boiled potatoes; platters of chipolatas; tureens of buttered peas, silver boats of thick, rich gravy and cranberry sauce...” (Rowling 149).  Secondly, everyone at Gryffindor was gleeful and happy: “Up at the High Table, Dumbledore had swapped his pointed wizard's hat for a flowered bonnet, and was chuckling merrily at a joke Professor Flitwick had just read him…” (Rowling 140-150). Lastly, Harry was excited about the wizard crackers which were not like the muggle crackers:Harry pulled a wizard cracker with Fred and it didn't just bang, it went off with a blast like a cannon and engulfed them all in a cloud of blue smoke, while from the inside exploded a rear admiral's hat and several live, white mice… including a pack of nonexplodable, luminous balloons, a Grow-Your-Own-Warts kit, and his new wizard chess set” (Rowling 149). In conclusion, the main idea of the paragraph in chapter twelve was that Harry had never had such a great Christmas before.

Chapter 12 Journal

Chapter 12 Journal

If you looked into the Mirror of Erised, what would you see? In your blog, identify and describe your “deepest, most desperate desire

If i looked into the Mirror of Erised, i would see a perfect family (when i'm older) with a college degree and the most confident, well-proposed women. As i said before, i would see a perfect family and life.
