Chapter 3: Journal Question

Uncle Vernon seems to be going crazy throughout chapter 3. Explain the reason for his madness and identify at least 3 examples from chapter 3 that demonstrate his strange behaviour.
Uncle Vernon was becoming paranoid  from all the letters Harry was recieving and from where the letter were coming from. He started nailing the post-box, which in Vernons case was a great idea, the letters still getting through then Vernon though a "vacation" to no-where would do the trick; but it didn't. Each day Harry was recieving more letters even at the motel so Uncle Vernon borowed a boat to go sail off to a old house that was musty and old. Through out chapter 3, Vernon goes crazy because he is convinced someone or something is following him.

Harry Potter Journal Chapter 2.

Chapter 2: Journal Question

How do you think Harry’s life would have been different if his parents were still alive?
I think Harry's life would be different if his parents were alive because he would grow up with a loving family and be treated better. He would know why strange things happen to him.

Consider the description of Harry’s life with the Dursleys in chapter 2 and identify how his life would be specifically changed if he had not been left on the doorstep of number
4 Privet Drive
.
His life would not be as abusive and horrible as it is now. He would of found out about wizards and wickens etc. He would learn about himself more and  know why strange things happen to him. He wouldn't be mistreated because he's "special".

Harry Potter Chapter 1 Journal.

Chapter 1 Journal Question:

Who is Harry Potter and why is he so special? Why does Dumbledore, knowing that Harry won’t be welcomed or treated well, leave him with the Dursleys? Include information from Chapter 1 to support your answer.

Harry Potter was known to be special because he was left alive when Voltmort killed his parents. Voltmort couldn't kill Harry because there was something about him, something special that needed to be defeated later on in Harry's life. As a reminder of Voltmort's presence, he has lighning bolt-shaped scar on his forhead.
Dumbledore has left Harry with the Dursley's for Harry's sake of growing up with a normal family. He didn't want Harry to grow up not knowing any of his family or relatives, so he left him at his aunt and uncles house. Another possible reason would be questions Harry might want the answer to, example would be the scar on his forehead or what happend to his parents and maybe later on when he gets abit older, he will ask about the odd occurence going around him.

Statements from Harry.

"You should always support your friends" I disagree with this statement because supporting your friends could mean supporting them on anything, meaning you could support their decision to steal something from a store. You could support their decision to do drugs. You  shouldn't always support your friends decision if it isn't smart.

What is a hero?

A real life hero is someone who fights for what they believe is right. They speak their mind and tell their world their opinion. I'm sure they have a second thought on critizisim and side comments from the people, but a real hero would do it for those who have the same thought and agree with what they are spreading across nations, "critizisim" is just a word that they pay close attention to if needed, but it ussually isn't something they care for. They just want to grab the attention of the people and show that they are trying to make a difference in the world or country. A real hero makes a difference, even if it's small. They show they care about what is advertised revolving around society and the people. They are hero's.

Research of the police community.

Specific duties for a police officer would be to enforce the law, protect people and land forms, patrolling an area or neighborhood, handling crime situations, arrest people who broke the law (DUI, drug abuse, speeding etc.),escort prisoners to their federal prison or to their cells (out of court), maintain custody, police officers act as security in airports and border lines etc.  Police officers have many duties to protect and make the city as safe as it can be.

I would not want to be a police officer because it is not a job that i would want to do when i'm older. I don't know yet if i would want to do a "at risk" job. My drive is to become a nurse. http://www.hamiltonpolice.on.ca/hps/
